About me
A few years ago, while experiencing times of stress and low energy, I discovered that receiving regular massages helped to alleviate these problems. Soon my health, energy, and ability to cope were much improved.
In response to my better health, I began thinking about how I could better express my values through a new career. Because I had received so many benefits from massage, I made the choice to pass that experience on to others. I returned to school to study massage and I have never regretted making that decision.
Massage education
- I graduated in 1995 from the Brian Utting School of Massage in Seattle. One of the premiere massage therapy schools in the nation, the Brian Utting School's mission was "to produce outstanding massage practitioners with a deeper sense of their humanity."
The year-long AMTA-COMTA accredited course included massage theory and practice, anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology and contraindications for massage, hydrotherapy, and training in injury treatment and other subjects related to massage.
- Continuing education in sports massage, fascial release, seated massage, treatment of chronic headaches, injury treatment, Reiki, Trager, and other subjects.
Professional affiliations
I am fortunate to have found work that is so rich and satisfying, and that contributes to people's lives in a meaningful and authentic way. I feel that I am doing something that really counts.
